I love twitter, Ryan. It's the main reason I want an iPhone - my Treo just doesn't handle the internet as well as iPhones do.

Maria - I use Twitter.  I have sold 1 home via Twitter and generated a few leads.  I'm not completely sold on the platform - except I do like the conversations started there.

Thanks for posting this.  Now I won't have to twitter away my time learning it all by trial and error.

Jim - I would hate for you to Twitter away your time.  I like these videos - pretty good overview on how to get started on Twitter.

Wow ..thanks you for taking the time and put this video lessons together for all of us

All should use the ActiveRain feed to Twitter. Will automatically post links to your ActiveRain blogs on Twitter. Use the Facebook application to Twitter and your links will appear on your wall at Facebook as well.

Posted by Roy Kelley (RE/MAX Realty Group) 7 months ago

Fernando - I hope it helps.

Roy - Solid advice - except I use ping.fm so I have to turn off the automatic feeds between Twitter and Facebook and other social networking sites.  Otherwise, I end up posting it 20x.  I do use the ActiveRain-Twitter feed.  So each of my posts hit Twitter twice.

I am still trying to figure out Twitter as part of my social media plan. Great post

Harry - I have had mixed results.  I get more referrals from ActiveRain and LinkedIn.  However, I see great possibilities with Twitter.

You will make a great ambasador for Active Rain and maybe you can specialize? Bookmarked this one for furthur refrence. Thanks.

Laura - Thanks.  I hope the videos help.  Still learning the ins and outs of Twitter.

Thanks Ryan for all the helpful tools (again).  This one is bookmarked for further study.  Everyone could use a little help with Twitter.

Posted by Roger Johnson, Realtor - Hickory NC Real Estate (CENTURY 21 American Homes) 7 months ago

Roger - I hope you take a look.  I found the videos to be helpful.  They don't capture the Twitter philosophy as much as capturing the Twitter mechanics or nuts and bolts.

Ryan, me too bookmarking this. Honestly, discovering Tweetdeck was what began to give me a handle on Twitter. The thing I like about it is you can get to know people who are on AR in a much more casual way. It really reinforces the friendships here.

Thank you so much for your post!  I have just a VERY LITTLE knowledge of twitter and since I am a new Realtor in Elkhart, IN this will help me jump start my career.  I definitely will be checking out these videos.

Thanks again.

Posted by Robin Borelli (Prudential One Realty) 7 months ago

Sharon - Twitter is a much different animal than AR - I like the interaction on Twitter because it is immediate but I prefer AR because there is substance to the relationships.  Tweetdeck helped me get a handle on Twitter.  In addition, searching for Tweets that interested me also made Twitter more useful.

Posted by Ryan Shaughnessy, Broker/Attorney - Your Lafayette Square Real Estate Partner (PREA Signature Realty - www.preasignaturerealty.com) 7 months ago

Robin - I like the Twitter videos.  They break Twitter down into smaller subjects which is great for getting started.  However, I didn't find Twitter of much use until I discovered Twitter applications that worked for me.
